SOLIDWORKS® Apps for Kids is a free, web-based and intuitive collection of apps that lets children design and 3D print their creations, turning their imagination into reality.
SOLIDWORKS® Apps for Kids comes with lots of content inspiration through tutorial videos, and it takes less than 5 minutes to create a (free) account, if not already done. Why not make the most of the week-ends or holidays by sharing a design or maker activity with your children?
Here are some suggestions:
– Use the Shape It app, as simple as a virtual playdough, to create exciting shapes and easily 3D print your child’s model with Print It
– Import the Print it STL files from the Print It app in SOLIDWORKS® and turn your child’s creation into a fully functional object by adding more complex features and a higher level of detail.
– Surprise your child by turning their SOLIDWORKS® Apps for Kids virtual 3D model into a real-life object… the possibilities are endless!
– And, finally, since you use SOLIDWORKS® on your side, then you can create a little design competition
