SOLIDWORKS – Empowering Design Innovation
GEO-MENTOR is an authorized SOLIDWORKS reseller in Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
SOLIDWORKS PDM is a core data management system that stores and organizes CAD engineering data and other documents in a central repository with a relational database
to manage all file and link information, user and group permissions, electronic workflows, and more. SOLIDWORKS PDM is integrated into Windows Explorer, so users work in a familiar environment but with much more information and control.
SOLIDWORKS PDM uses an organized local cache where files are automatically retrieved from the central file server (archive server) and placed in a local cache.
SOLIDWORKS PDM uses an organized local cache, where files are automatically retrieved from the central file server (archive server) and placed in the user's local cache on their hard drive. This significantly improves performance compared to opening and saving files in shared network folders. If a file needs to be edited, the user checks out the file, which gives them access rights to it. After editing is complete, the file is copied back to the archive server during the check-in process. A new version of the file is automatically created during the check-in process.
Manage and control all data related to your product development. With SOLIDWORKS PDM, you can create and maintain a single data location and repository that users can access for storing and retrieving files. SOLIDWORKS PDM manages all file references and automatically updates them whenever you move a file to another folder or rename it, eliminating broken links or the time needed to search for and fix lost links manually.
Quickly find and reuse existing project data to save time and control costs. You can create a structure for quick searching and reusing or repurposing existing project data. Instead of spending time searching for previous projects on shared drives or local workstations or recreating projects if you can’t find them, you can use SOLIDWORKS PDM tools for their quick retrieval.
Track design changes and avoid the pitfalls of manual methods. Monitor changes and maintain a complete history of project modifications.
Set up a secure file repository to control access to confidential or private product information. With SOLIDWORKS PDM, you can create and maintain a single location for data and storage that users can access for storing and retrieving files. SOLIDWORKS PDM products ensure the security, relevance, and availability of data. The system eliminates work duplication and delays, saving time and development costs. Easily set and assign individual and/or group user rights. Visually represent the product development process using the user-friendly flowchart interface in SOLIDWORKS PDM products.
Make sure you are always working with the “correct version” of the project by utilizing revision and version control capabilities. Set up file names and version control schemes, maintain document history, and easily manage document versions to avoid costly production errors associated with working with the wrong version.
Maintain a complete history of product design, engineering, and development for reporting and auditing purposes.
Save time and reduce development costs by reusing design through quick access to necessary data in various file types using powerful search tools offered by PDM. You can quickly search the content of files across multiple data types (such as CAD files, Microsoft Word documents, Excel® spreadsheets, Outlook® email messages, and image files) and find documents using a range of search criteria (including name, date, metadata, and workflow status).
View eDrawings®, SOLIDWORKS, and AutoCAD® documents in eDrawings within SOLIDWORKS PDM.
Reduce the time required to complete project approval processes and Engineering Change Order (ECO) requests. Visually represent the product development process using an easy-to-use flowchart interface. Documentation for engineering changes and change approvals becomes fully electronic with SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional.
Support, manage, and utilize information about specifications (BOM) to support subsequent applications and systems. Create separate specification objects from existing CAD file structures that are automatically updated in parallel with the development of the CAD model, eliminating frequent manual updates required when using spreadsheets. Connect your CAD data to enterprise resource planning (ERP) or material requirements planning (MRP) systems, allowing you to easily update specification information in other corporate systems. Use customizable templates to display specification information in multiple formats or to format specification information according to the needs of the user or group.
Ensure compliance with governmental regulatory requirements and industry standards. SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional can ensure compliance with several types of regulatory requirements, such as FDA, RoHS, ISO 9001 and 14000, ANSI, and others.
Collaborate across the entire organization by maintaining communication, relevance, and working with the same set of data. Create and maintain a single data location and repository that users from around the world can access for storing and retrieving files. Set up the SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional system to automatically notify users about documents passing through various states or stages of the electronic workflow you have established. Automatically create multiple types of neutral file formats from SOLIDWORKS and other file types.
Combine the project data needs of your entire enterprise. Create and maintain a single data location and repository that users from around the world can access for storing and retrieving files. In addition to providing a reliable backup of product design data, secure file storage eliminates multiple “repositories” of information, duplicate files, and unsynchronized versions. SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional software includes tools that allow you to customize and configure many aspects of your PDM system to meet the specific needs of organizations of any size.
Save your search criteria and share them as “favorites,” giving you instant access to common queries.

Easily connect project data needed for the entire enterprise, whether it’s a few users in one location or hundreds of participants working in different places. SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional provides a single convenient repository where colleagues can store and retrieve data. Efficient storage and file search allows for the management of millions of files.
Save time and effort on data exchange by configuring SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional for automatic creation of neutral file formats.
Match variables with both predefined properties (such as title and author) and custom named properties in SOLIDWORKS files. If the SOLIDWORKS file contains configurations, the configuration names are displayed as tabs in the data card. Values related to the configuration are shown on the corresponding tab.
SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional can import variable values from an XML file into the vault database. In the vault, existing files or items that meet the import criteria receive values at the specified points in the file workflow. Create an export rule to export SOLIDWORKS PDM BOM variables that can be read into ERP systems.
Use serial numbers to automatically assign names to files and folders, assign unique identifiers to items, or add unique current values to map controls. You can configure any number of serial numbers in each repository. Serial numbers for item numbers are defined by default to create unique identifiers for items.
SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional provides the tools and capabilities your enterprise needs to ensure communication, updates, and work with the same set of data regardless of location. This global connectivity supports the distributed collaboration necessary to reduce design cycles and accelerate time to market.
Provide employees and partners the ability to contribute through web portals from various connected devices, including smartphones and tablets.
Automatically streamline the work of several necessary assertions using parallel transitions.
You can add a SOLIDWORKS PDM notification from a local vault so that a user logged into the system receives an email message when a predefined event occurs in a file or folder.
Provide important information to help teams focus on critical tasks, and offer an overview of resource capabilities for better planning and utilization. Manage project phases, deadlines, and milestones, as well as resource usage and capacities. Use custom tasks and schedules for automatic progress tracking.
